Industrial Park and Connectivity on SAARC CCI Agenda

15 March 2016

The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) presented its program for the year on 15 March 2016, at a press meet held by new SAARC CCI President Suraj Vaidya.

Foremost on the SAARC CCI agenda is development of a SAARC Industrial Park that will enable the sharing of technical knowledge for industries and services among SAARC countries, and promote intra-SAARC trade and investment.

SAARC CCI will also work toward boosting connectivity in SAARC, believing free movement of people and goods to be necessary for economic growth. According to President Vaidya, the new SAARC CCI Commitee will work toward the implementation of the proposed SAARC Motor Vehicle Agreement.

President Vaidya also stated the need to work toward boosting intra-regional and foreign investment in infrastructure for the benefit of the entire SAARC region.
