South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) officials discussed and agreed on a list of priority projects, including technical assistance, at an Energy Working Group Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on 21 October 2011. Mr. Sultan Hafeez Rahman, Director General of the Asian Development Bank's South Asia Regional Department, highlighted the importance of strengthening energy cooperation and establishing a regional energy market in the subregion in his opening remarks.
